Peony Links I Ornament
Dimensions: 3-1/2” diameter, 7-1/4” overall height including hanging loop.
Materials: paper mache’ ornament, gesso, artists acrylics, archival varnish.

My first ever collection of original hand-painted ornaments is inspired by the patterns and designs found on vintage and antique porcelain jars. I used acrylic paints with and without water, achieving dimensional coverage, along with a watercolor-like application in some areas, allowing the background color to peak through the paint. Each ornament in the collection is a unique signed and dated piece, handcrafted to add a Chinoiserie accent to your holiday home.
Each paper mache’ ornament was coated with layers of gesso, then coated with two coats of a custom mixed acrylic base color that mimics a base porcelain glaze. I hand-painted each ornament using artists quality acrylic paints, and sealed them with archival gloss varnish. A navy blue grosgrain bow was added, and the ornament was complete.
